VIVITY AI Office, 2022
ViVity AI Korea's new Seoul office was born as a collaborative workplace where various kinds of plants, colorful line patterns, and furniture express its own unique individuality of its AI programmers.
The project aimed at a flexible and carefully planned office space that promotes the value of collaboration and teamwork, not the stereotyped startup offices which pretend to be free-spirited environment.
The new office is located on the first floor of a office building, near around Gangnam Station. The 160 sq.m space was proposed as an open-plan layout with minimal physical internal partitions. The partition system which consists of translucent polycarbonate panels and wood frame forms communal spaces such as conference rooms, meeting rooms, and kitchens. Furniture and plants are placed between AI programmers' work spaces and communal spaces to make subtle separation of two areas.
Office staffs immedidately experience printed colour patterns on the floor though out the office, which reminiscent of overlapping lines on the floor of old gyms or warehouse, which is experienced by programmers as rhythm in their workplace. The folding doors on the south and west connect the terrace to the interior space, and the yellow fabric awning provides appropriate shading, allowing the exterior terrace to be used as a meeting space as well as various social event spaces.
Vivity AI Korea의 새로운 서울 오피스는, 다양한 종류의 식재들과 컬러풀한 라인 패턴, 가구들이 AI 스타트업 프로그래머들의 자유로움과 개성을 드러내는 업무공간으로 태어났다.
프로젝트는 스타트업 오피스의 포장된 자유분방함이 아닌, 협업과 팀워크의 가치가 촉진되는 유연성있고 섬세하게 계획된 오피스 공간을 목표로 했다.
강남역 북쪽의 오피스 건물 2층에 위치해 있는 약 160m2 면적의 내부공간은 최소한의 물리적인 내부 파티션을 가지는 가변적인 오픈플랜 레이아웃으로 계획되었다. 이를 위해 계획된 반투명 폴리카보네이트와 목재틀을 조합해 만든 파티션 시스템이 컨퍼런스룸, 미팅룸과 키친 등 공용 공간을 구성한다. AI 프로그래머들의 업무공간과 공용 공간 사이에는 공용 가구, 식재들이 배치되어 드러나지 않게 두 영역을 분리한다.
메인 출입구부터 주요 보행 흐름은, 오래된 체육관이나 창고 바닥의 중첩된 라인들을 연상시키는 컬러 패턴들에 의해 인지되며, 이는 프로그램어들에게 내부 공간안에서 리듬과 위트로 경험된다.
남쪽, 서쪽의 폴딩도어는 독립된 외부 테라스를 내부공간과 연결하고, 노란색 페브릭 전동 어닝이 적절한 쉐이딩을 제공하면서 외부 테라스가 회의 뿐만 아니라 다양한 이벤트 공간으로 활용될 수 있게 한다.
